The full-time Analyst Program is a multi-year experiential journey designed to empower and support Analysts in connecting their personal passions and strengths to BlackRockโs mission, principles and purpose. The program begins with an orientation to learn about our purpose, business and strategic priorities โ all while gaining insights into the day-to-day life of an Analyst at BlackRock.
Following orientation, Analysts join their business area and stay connected with colleagues across the globe through ongoing training and professional development.
Our Sydney program consists of 4 x 6 months rotation to gain a comprehensive overview of the following Australian business areas:
- Sales & Relationship Management Develop and deliver investment products and solutions for clients worldwide. Create marketing strategies around these solutions and use them to build new client relationships.
- BlackRock Solutions Use a depth understanding of Aladdin to help clients analyze their enterprise risk, build better portfolios, and amplify the value they deliver.
- Investments Conduct market research and analyze specific investment opportunities which meet client needs.
Throughout the program, Analysts will have an opportunity to do meaningful work with diverse colleagues across the globe, all with the support of a company thatโs committed to their well-being and invested in their success.

The portfolio analysis and solutions team provides portfolio construction and risk consulting services to help clients build efficient portfolios that can meet their objectives. My day to day responsibilities include running analysis on portfolios and preparing presentations for client engagements, thought pieces and educational campaigns.
I'm 3 months into my first rotation in Client Business. The job varies a lot day-to-day and I enjoy this variety! My manager is super helpful, even thorugh the transition to WFH. I work in the COO function within client busienss which is the busienss management side. This role supports and works with the institutional and wealth side of distribution which has been a great learning experience.

The supportive culture and flat hierarchy. Also the ability to be entrusted with leading projects and be responsible for tasks at a junior level.
Very flexible hours... there is a certain level of trust involved with manager and managee. When work is light, less hours is more than fine, treated like adults.

Cons
Due to the sheer size and scale of the business, completing a straightforward procedure can require levels of approvals and coordination across various parts of the business.

Graduate pay is slightly below average in Australia.
Performance feedback is ad hoc - a lot of the times you do have to take the initiative to ask for it.
More transparency in the business rotations the graduates will be in and the options there are for graduates to experience.
