We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Brisbane Transport team in 2021 or early 2022. Reporting to the Ground Engineering Section Lead, you'll work across a number of consulting projects and assist our geotechnical engineers with project work including site investigations, geotechnical design and assisting our clients. We offer a supportive team environment that will continue your professional development from university. The role is available for either an immediate start or in early 2022 at the completion of your studies.
Here's What You'll Need:
Ideally, in the past two years, you've completed a degree related to Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Geology or a similar degree and possess an interest in Ground Engineering. This is a unique role that requires applicants to hold Australian / New Zealand Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency. The role is aligned with expectations with a variety of projects, teams, clients, and levels of detail.
Gets to design stuff from the start. If you like project management-type of work -go for it. Personally, I prefer design, so I let my team leader know that. Whenever something interesting comes up, he lets me know and checks if I might be interested in being involved.
My personal responsibilities are slightly less technical than I would like but I am still involved with very interesting work

IT support is slow
As a smaller office in a large company, it often feels like we are left out from the rest of the company and that there can be a disconnect at times.
Hot desking - would be nice to have designated areas for the teams (as in the 10 desks here are all for X team)
Unpredictability of hours during projects however this is the nature of consulting.
