Engineering Consulting
Established in 1976, Northrop is a locally-owned engineering consultancy with nine offices and over 500 people across NSW, ACT, QLD and VIC.
Flexible working is highly respected in the company, giving everyone the opportunity to work wherever.
Great people, great management, variety of jobs, great training and mentors.
Supportive workplace culture, particularly the emphasis on developing young professionals.
The culture, the relationships, opportunities to meet clients and do things that you wouldn't be allowed to or be able to at other larger companies.
Lots of learning technical concepts. Being exposed to different kinds of projects.
Everyone is really busy so sometimes you do not get enough time with mentors, training or jobs.
Some ongoing changes/improvements to company processes means we have to learn the old system as well as ongoing learning of the new system. Not that bad, just extra steps learning the workflow.
Inefficiencies in the way we work on projects
Sometimes there is not as much structure around processes and tasks that we do day-to-day.
Tight deadlines during busy periods
