About Quantium’s Summer Internship Program

Our internship is a 9-week program that runs from December to February (Don’t worry trimester students, we got you!). As an Analyst Intern, you’ll work in any one of our analytics teams to gain real hands-on experience in life as an Analyst at Quantium.

What will you do?

Every project and team is different but our focus on using data for good remains the same – whether we’re helping improve the way clients serve their customers, analysing data from banking transactions or supporting covid vaccine rollouts through analytics. Our work spans a range of industries and you will be working in one of the industries to make your mark.

This is not a definitive list but you’ll get the opportunity to:

  • Play with data to discover insights and collaborate with internal teams
  • Share insights and recommendations to influence business decisions
  • Gain exposure to what it’s like to work as a data analyst, the role it plays and the impact you can make

You will have plenty of support through check-ins with your team and people leader, mentored by our current graduates and Senior Analysts or Consultants and connecting with your fellow interns.

Upon completing your internship, you will head back to uni with a clear picture of what it is like working at Quantium, with experience working on analytical problems and great memories of having fun and working with interesting tech.

Apply for our intern program and kick start your career with us!

Our recruitment process

Our analytics teams use a combination of Python, SQL, R – just to name a few. We don’t expect you to know all of these but rather, we’re looking for a solid problem-solving ability and a keen interest in analytics.

Once we've reviewed your application, the first step will be to complete an online multiple-choice quiz. Then be invited to a video interview and finally, a case study interview with an analytics team member.

This program is open to penultimate year students graduating by January 2024 with Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency.

My day-to-day responsibilities are limited to my skill level, but I enjoy the work that I do. I have enough to keep me busy, but not too much that I'm overloaded.

Pros and cons of working at Quantium

Pros

  • The work culture is fantastic. The work is interesting, and the people are really supportive. The work-life balance is amazing. I love sharing that I work at this company, and I'm proud to be here.

  • Company culture, interesting work, job perks, clear career advancement pathways, study assistance.

  • The people are really great - such a young vibrant environment.

  • Socialising is easy and I really enjoy working at my company.

  • It's extremely flexible, my schedule is what I want it to be. I'm also strongly encouraged to have a good work-life balance.

Cons

    • The pay isn't as competitive as other companies. I'm earning almost half the amount as my peers doing similar work.

    • Non-standardised experience/remuneration.

    • There has been inconsistent work and for a while not much to do and I wasn't learning as much as I'd have liked.

    • It's quite an ambiguous career progression post-rolling off the grad program.

    • The pay isn't very competitive compared to the market.
