Our internship is a 9-week program that runs from December to February (Donโt worry trimester students, we got you!). As a Software Engineering Intern at Quantium, you will have the opportunity to work on an exciting project in one of our many teams. These projects have been scoped by our Engineering Leads to be achieved over the course of your internship which means you will get to see what it means to work on a real start-to-finish project as an Engineer at Quantium! Some of these teams include:
If you are keen to do a Backend-focused internship, you might be working on a backend environment built on microservices, hosted on cloud services, and utilising a variety of tools, technologies, and libraries. If your interest lies in Frontend technologies, you may be working with JavaScript and a React stack. Either way, thereโll be plenty of learning โ in both technical and soft skills.
Our engineers work closely with analysts to design and implement solutions. If you are excited to power your own possibilities, Quantium could be the place for you! Along the way you will have plenty of support through check-ins with your project team, mentoring by our Engineers, career conversations with the Graduate Academy team and connecting with your fellow interns.
Upon completing your internship youโll have a clearer picture of what it is like working as an Engineer at Quantium, experience delivering a tool/solution for our business and great memories of having fun and working with interesting tech.
Apply for our intern program and kick-start your career with us!
Our engineering teams use a combination of Python, C#, and Javascript โ just to name a few. We donโt expect you to know all of these but rather, weโre looking for a solid computer science fundamentals and algorithmic problem-solving ability and the ability to demonstrate such in a clear and concise manner.
Once we've reviewed your application, the first step will be to complete an online quiz. Then be invited to a video interview and wrap up with an engineering interview with 2 engineering team members.
This program is open to penultimate year students graduating by January 2024 with Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency.
My day-to-day responsibilities are limited to my skill level, but I enjoy the work that I do. I have enough to keep me busy, but not too much that I'm overloaded.

The work culture is fantastic. The work is interesting, and the people are really supportive. The work-life balance is amazing. I love sharing that I work at this company, and I'm proud to be here.
Company culture, interesting work, job perks, clear career advancement pathways, study assistance.
The people are really great - such a young vibrant environment.
Socialising is easy and I really enjoy working at my company.
It's extremely flexible, my schedule is what I want it to be. I'm also strongly encouraged to have a good work-life balance.
The pay isn't as competitive as other companies. I'm earning almost half the amount as my peers doing similar work.
Non-standardised experience/remuneration.
There has been inconsistent work and for a while not much to do and I wasn't learning as much as I'd have liked.
It's quite an ambiguous career progression post-rolling off the grad program.
The pay isn't very competitive compared to the market.
