7.9 rating for Working Hours, based on 23 reviews
How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
I work a 2 week on, 2 weeks off roster. Santos recently introduced a 9 day fortnight for office employees.

When I was in operation I would have written 4, staying back in the office is a daily activities and no allowance were given. Now I work in project and I make sure I am using my time effectively in the office.

Hours in the office are reasonable and flexible arrangements are quite good, they could be improved but I don't think we are behind the trend on this aspect. Bringing back the Flex Friday as a permanent fixture was not just a great decision to improve company culture but also the personal lives of staff by providing greater flexibility. Working between office and home could be improved, however, with a suggestion to allow people to work up to two days a week from home to help people maintain their out-of-office commitments while still being able to complete their job in a timely manner. Also, the ability to work from other offices from time to time would be a great improvement to flexibility given the movement of staff between offices in recent years.

I am doing a 28 on and 28 off onsite for 12 hours a day. It is quite challenging, but it gives me enough time to grasp as much experience as I can.

In terms of hours I would suggest an 8hrs a day shift would be fantastic as opposed to the current 12hrs daily shift which is quite stressful when it continues for 28days straight.

My manager is generally happy for me to be flexible with my working hours, within reason. I work more than the weekly requirement of 37.5 hours as I generally need to in order to stay on top of my workload.
Graduate, Brisbane - 04 Oct 2023
Standard 37.5h working week expected. However, relatively flexible with working from home arrangements, or if I need to leave an hour early one day, I'll work an extra hour within the week to make up for it. Some days are slightly longer than others, however, end of the day, it all evens out nicely.

The hours are flexible and working 9 day fortnights is a blessing

I tend to work 9-5:30, with a 1-hour break. However, I usually get in earlier (between 8:30 and 9), then leave between 5 and 6. I always ensure that I work at least the correct hours, and try not to go overtime too much, though will sometimes get distracted working on a task. I try my best to get as much work completed, to the best quality, within those hours. However, I really appreciate how flexible the work times are - I feel supported that if I needed to leave 30 minutes earlier, as long as I don't have meetings over that period, I can just arrive to work 30 minutes earlier in the morning, or have a 30 min lunch instead of 1 hour.

They are pretty flexible with work hours but it feels like sometimes you should work extra because everyone else is and there is always work to be done. No one in the office works their normal hours.

When flex Friday and a regular WFH day is taken into account, I am very satisfied with my current hours. I believe this can be attributed to the culture within my team, which is flexible and fair.

Santos is flexible enough for me, I am able to come in early and leave early.

Company has been flexible with work hours, with the Flexi-Friday (9-day fortnight) being a great initiative to be in place.
