Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
I really want to stay with the organisation after the grad program and there are quite a few former grads with prominent positions within the business. This gives me evidence that progression is certainly possible but I don't know specifically that would look for me.

Limited and limited support granted to graduate engineers DESPITE repeated correspondence with HR emphasising the need to improve the retention rate within the company.

My graduate program lasts 2 years with no guaruntee of a permanent position at the end of the program.

Whilst I am currently in a two year Graduate program, there is opportunity to apply for internal roles if one arises throughout the program. Managers are extremely supportive for Graduates to apply and accept internal roles before their program is up. The company also heavily prioritises internal job applications before going out to market externally. The opportunity to build rapport and showcase your skills before applying for a job gives me extreme confidence and comfort in being able to move up along the ranks.

I am unsure of the process to move up the ranks at UU as that journey looks different for everyone. What I can observe is there are definitely employees that deserve recognition and promotion who are overlooked, and there are also employees in management positions that may need further support to become the manager and leader the employees want and need. Looking at the amount of women in our top spots gives me some hope but at the same time there is still work to do, and UU acknowledges this.

I have noticed it is really easy to move around the business. I haven't experienced any promotions or career progression yet as the grad program runs for two years and I haven't been actively looking for a new role yet.

Promotion opportunities with the business exist, however there are people within the business who have been here a long time and may be better suited for the roles available.

I'm unsure of the promotion possibilities but previous graduates have done relatively well.
