What I love most about my job is the ability to work with a range of diverse individuals and have the opportunity to attend an array of meetings and social events that allows everyone to remain integrated regardless of what position they hold in the company.
As an engineer, I like to critically analyze the designs and the plan we execute on the ground, whether it is the drill and blast designs or the mining method the excavator is executing.
Being able to see the public catching the trains and trams that I’ve worked on brings a great sense of satisfaction and it feels that you are contributing to society.
I thoroughly enjoy project work where I can manage a project from start to end and see it implemented within the business and the positive outcomes of it.
I completed this placement in conjunction with my thesis where I learnt all about condition monitoring and vibration analysis. The result of my project has the potential to be applied across each of the mine sites.
