I was given a lot of autonomy to select and apply appropriate materials, components and devices for the redesigned system, which would increase reliability and ultimately promote plant uptime.
The best part of my job is seeing my projects get executed on site. After spending so long stewarding a project through the different stages, seeing something finally installed and giving the benefit that it needed to is very rewarding.
It’s awesome to see the successful application of new methods, and to see how carbon financing is helping projects generate high-quality carbon credits, while also creating co-benefits like local jobs and improved biodiversity outcomes.
As a mining engineering vacation student, I mostly worked in the Tech Services team, in which I got to experience a range of engineering roles and disciplines such as mine ventilation, gas drainage and mine planning.
